Amplification of SIVcpz Ptt -04Cam155 and SIVcpz Ptt -09Cam155 full-length genomes. The two full-length genomes were amplified as partially overlapping PCR fragments (shaded boxes) and directly sequenced, except for the V1V4 env regions (hatched boxes) where clonal sequences were necessary. The primers used to amplify each PCR fragment are given in Additional file 2: Table S2. Fragments are drawn to scale and the nucleotide sequences are numbered from the beginning of the R region in the 5' LTR (see scale bar).
