  1. 1The prevalence of SIV infections in black-and-white colobus monkeys (BWC) was assessed by deep-sequencing of reverse transcribed viral RNA and with serological tests, including HIV-2-specific western blots (HIV-2 WB) and HIV InnoLIA assays.
  2. 2For HIV-2 WB and HIV-1/-2 InnoLIA, seroreactivity to specific viral proteins is shown in brackets. For the HIV-1/-2 InnoLIA assay, intensity of signals was quantified with 1+ being positive and 3+ being strongly positive.
  3. 3To quantify the number of SIV-specific reads, read number were normalized to 1,000,000 million reads per animal.
