The mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) of fluorescence-positive cells is not a major part of the strong silencing phenotype. Cells were infected with different virus dilutions of IN-D64A or IN-wt virus as indicated. K562 cells (A), Jurkat cells (B) and HeLa cells (C) were harvested and the MFI of fluorescence-positive cells measured by flow cytometry 24 h after virus application (left panel). The ratio of IN-wt and IN-D64A of the MFI of fluorescence-positive cells is shown (right panel). Error bars indicate mean ± SD. Mock represents uninfected control.
