Isolates from Australia are indicated in bold. Isolates NCP201, VAN-EM5, and MEL5 were obtained from New Caledonia, Vanuatu [84], and the Solomon Islands [85], respectively. Sequence variations are highlighted in pink. The mitochondrial targeting signal (MTS) and the putative nuclear localization sequence (NLS) are highlighted in yellow and blue, respectively. Arrows at the bottom of the figure indicate an 8-residue ‘signature’ present in all Australian isolates (see text). The multi-alignment was performed with the Mega7 program using default parameters
