Neuropathology in HIV-infected BLT mice: Human CD3ε immunolabeled T cells were observed in brains from uninfected (ai), HIV-infected (aii) and HIV-infected/ART-exposed animals (aiii). Co-labeled cells exhibiting CD3ε (yellow), p24 (purple) with DAPI nuclear labeling (inset) were evident in HIV-infected animals. Similarly, human CD68 immunolabeling of macrophages was evident in HIV[−] (bi), HIV[+] (bii) and HIV[+]/ART (biii) and was localized showing CD68 (yellow) and HIV-1 p24 (purple) (inset). GFAP-immunopositive (murine) astrocytes were apparent in brains from HIV[−] (ci), HIV[+] (cii) and HIV[+]/ART (ciii) animals
