From: SAMHD1 specifically restricts retroviruses through its RNase activity
SAMHD1 does not inhibit the replication of non-retro RNA viruses. PMA-treated shLuciferase THP-1 and shSAMHD1 THP-1 cells were infected with SeV (a), VSV-GFP (b), or reovirus (c) at an MOI of 0.1. qRT-PCR was performed with primers specific for SeV nucleoprotein transcripts (a), gfp (b), or reoviral sigma 3 RNA (c). Data were normalized against gapdh as an internal control. Data are expressed as the mean ± SD of three independent experiments in triplicate.
