  1. Whole human PBMCs were stimulated with PHA + IL-2, and maintained in complete medium (10% FCS) for one week, with sampling of resuspended cells on days 1, 4, and 7. Cells were dual stained with CD4 and CXCR4 or CCR5 specific mAbs, to determine the percentages of CD4+ and CD4(−) cells expressing CXCR4 or CCR5 at various times. Because co-expression of CXCR4 and CCR5 on either CD4+ or CD4(−) cells was not determined, total percentages of CKR + cells are not calculated by summing the four populations for each day.
