Samples were normalized (delta-Ct) to the geometric mean of the most invariant twelve RNAs of 23 measured RNA species. Shown are miRNAs downregulated (A) or upregulated (B) in viremic PBMC samples. Asterisks represent p values: * = p < 0.05; ** = p < 0.01, *** = p < 0.001; statistical calculations were done using delta-delta Ct values, not the exponential fold change values. Input materials for each assay were the products of reverse-transcription (RT) or of reverse-transcription and pre-amplification (PA). Where both RT and PA were done, the average of delta-delta Ct values was taken. Three to six replicates were performed for each sample.
