Minocycline inhibited spontaneous degranulation/IFN-γ expression in CD8+ T cells of patients with HAM/TSP. (A) Representative dot plots of CD107a and IFN-γ expression in CD8+ T cells of a ND and a HAM/TSP patient after culture for 24 hours with or without 10 μM of minocycline. (B) Inhibitory effects of minocycline on degranulation/IFN-γ expression in CD8+ T cells of eight HAM/TSP patients after culture for 24 hours. Spontaneous degranulation/IFN-γ expression in CD8+ T cells of HAM/TSP patients was significantly inhibited by minocycline treatment (*p = 0.0078; all by Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed rank test).
