From: HIV infection of thymocytes inhibits IL-7 activity without altering CD127 expression
Thymocytes are infected by HIV. Thymocytes were incubated with HIVcs204, or mock infected and co-cultured with thymic epithelial cells. DNA was isolated from the cells following 24 hours or 96 hours p.i and the presence of HIV-1 was measured by nested PCR. As a positive control, DNA was isolated from ACH2 cells, and water was used as a negative control in the PCR reaction. Results are representative of 3 separate experiments.
