From: Evolution of subtype C HIV-1 Env in a slowly progressing Zambian infant
Replication kinetics of 1157 infant viral isolates obtained at 6, 12 and 48-month follow-ups were determined in PBMC culture supernatant by measuring RT units. The laboratory viral strain 128 A was used as control. Each 100 TCID50 viral inoculum was added to 6 × 106 PHA-stimulated PBMC from a HIV-1 seronegative blood donor. RT units were measured in culture supernatant at day 0, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 post-infection.
