Two acetylated forms of Tax are detected in various cell lines expressing Tax, including HTLV-1 infected T lymphocytes. Extracts from 293T cells expressing WT Tax or the K₃₄₆R mutant (A), WT Tax and either p300-HA or HDAC7-Flag (B), or JPX9 T lymphocytes either induced for Tax expression with CdCl₂ (I) or not induced (NI) and HTLV-1 infected T lymphocyte cell lines C8166 and MT4 (C), were analyzed by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis followed by Western Blotting with anti-Tax and anti-AcK₃₄₆Tax antibodies.
