NTD-CTD CA mutants with altered capsid stability are impaired in reverse transcription in target cells. HeLa-P4 cells were inoculated with equal quantities of WT or mutant viruses. Cultures were harvested 8 hr. after infection and DNA isolated and assayed for second-strand transfer products by qPCR.
