Signal peptide, variable regions 1–4 (V1-V4) as well as the CD4-binding site are shown in relation to their position within gp120. Black bars indicate the position of the 18 conserved cysteine residues while blue bars indicate additional cysteines. The position of the missing cysteines for SIVkcol-2 is highlighted with a dashed red line.
